JWT is a global advertising agency founded in 1864 by William James Carlton. The company was renamed by James Walter Thompson as The James Walter Thompson Company in 1877, and became J. Walter Thompson. The agency was bought by WPP Group in 1987 and was renamed as JWT in 2005. The JWT network, headquartered in New York, has nearly 10,000 employees in more than 200 offices in over 90 countries, who serve over 1,200 clients.
