Turkish Airlines Kobe vs Messi Legends on Board
Turkish Airlines is running “Legends on Board”, a television and online commercial starring Los Angeles Lakers basketballer Kobe Bryant and Barcelona footballer Leo Messi. Filming of the two players was shot in both Istanbul (Kobe) and Barcelona (Lionel), with post production done in Spain, the Netherlands and Turkey to bring them together.
TBWA\Istanbul Stationery
TBWA\Istanbul has won Grand Prix for Design of Brand & Corporate Identity at the 2012 Golden Drum Awards, for the agency’s collection of stationery. As TBWA globally changed its corporate typography to Helvetica the Istanbul agency redesigned all of its stationary items. Honouring the Helvetica spirit the agency team aimed to produce a Swiss approach to packaging, with everything stated and specified perfectly, including precise information about size, weight or materials used. An icon and a sentence was created for each item used in the office, including everything from cups to folders, notebooks to CD cases. The stationery is being sold at the Istanbul Museum of Modern Art and Delicatessen.
Artful Living Construction
42 Maslak, a niche construction project designed by Chapman Taylor and constructed by Bay Construction in Istanbul, Turkey, is a combination of artful flats, artful offices, an artful shopping mall and art galleries. Promotion of the project worked with the philosophy of the construction, ‘Artful Living’ right from construction phase. The best way to fulfill the promise of the construction company, designing ‘Artful Living’, was to let the target audience see the artful construction site. The traditional yellow construction vehicles were transformed into colourful design objects by a group of selected Turkish graphic artists. Visitors to the 42 Maslak sales office, on a skyscraper looking down on the construction site. The artful vehicles were covered on design blogs, national magazines and newspapers. The Artful Living campaign includes posters and print advertising featuring artful construction workers. The Artful Construction Vehicles campaign won Grand Prix for Outdoor at the Golden Drum Awards earlier this month.

Turkish Airlines QR Flags
Turkish Airlines is working with McCann Istanbul to run “QR Flags”, in which all national flags have been turned into QR Codes. Launched in London during the 2012 Olympics, the QR Flags have been placed on 100 digital bus shelters all over London. Users who scan the QR code will check-in to that flag/country and enter the gamefication phase. To win a 2 two way ticket to one of Turkish Airlines’ 200 destinations, all you have to do is be the one with most check-ins or the one with the greatest number of individual check-ins. Both the mobile site and dedicated Facebook app provide information on closest bus shelters, check-in data and general stats.
