Qatar has won the bid to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup, after competing with the USA, South Korea, Japan and Australia over the last year. The Qatar 2022 Bid YouTube channel has 33 videos ranging from launch introductions, commercials and spots featuring the facilities on offer. The campaign is held together with the visual image of five-sided particles.
Vodafone’s launch of services in Qatar in July was given a boost with “Jump In”, a pair of television commercials developed in New Zealand. The animated spots, featuring music from Australian band Empire of the Sun, Walking on a Dream, show the transition from dull office and car park environments into an international world of colour. FP7 Doha in Qatar have been discredited this last week after having their 2009 Agency of the Year award withdrawn by the Dubai Lynx Awards. Investigations after the March ceremony revealed that at least 18 submissions had been entered in the competition, winning seven awards, without ever being approved by the companies concerned, Samsung, Nissan and Higeen.
The Samsung SWF338AAB washing machine is presented as the way to deal with soiled clothes in this award-winning campaign from Qatar. Shirts release mud, ink and oil in vomit form – a response to the 1,300 rpm maximum spin speed. The campaign won gold in the print section of the Dubai Lynx Awards 2009.
Nestle Purina Dog Chow is the focus of “Dominos”, a print advertisement from FP7 Doha, Qatar, winner of a Gold for Print at the Dubai Lynx 2008 Awards. “Better keep your dog happy.”
