Telecom Spark – Let It Shine - November 21st, 2009

Telecom New Zealand recently launched their new brand imagery with “Light of Mine”, an integrated advertising campaign, online at www.lightofmine.co.nz. A television commercial featuring animated passions takes people to the site where they can share their passions and let Telecom know what little thing would make their spark shine brighter.

Another 10 km/h for Urban Road Safety

Land Transport Safety in New Zealand has launched a new road safety television advertisement focusing on speed in urban areas. The commercial challenges the tendency for urban drivers to travel over the 50 km/h speed limit, reminding them that this habit increases both the likelihood of a crash and the severity of that crash.

U2Charist Music can make a difference

Three years ago today St Matthew in the City, Auckland, New Zealand, hosted the U2charist Concert organized by Oxfam and Make Poverty History, in association with the U2 concert planned for November 2007. U2charist is a service of Holy Eucharist using the music of the Irish rock band U2.

Colin McRae Dirt 2 Windscreen Wipers - November 15th, 2009

Atari New Zealand has been promoting the Codemasters racing video game, Colin McRae Dirt 2, with a billboard featuring a mud encrusted windscreen with fully functional window wipers. The sequel to Colin McRae: Dirt is named after Scottish rally driver Colin McRae, who provided technical advice during development but died in September 2007.

Paeroa World Famous in New Zealand - November 14th, 2009

Lemon & Paeroa (L&P) put the New Zealand town of Paeroa into the international spotlight with the “World Famous in New Zealand” campaign of 1994. A series of television commercials made the most of the link between the soft drink and the town, accompanied by “Counting The Beat”, a 1981 track by New Zealand/Australian band The Swingers. Lemon & Paeroa was named after the mineral water discovered near Paeroa, carbonated and mixed with lemon juice.

Visit Paeroa with Colin and Maurice - November 12th, 2009

Paeroa, a small, rural town in New Zealand’s North Island, is the centre of a new advertising campaign for Coca Cola Amatil’s traditional soft drink Lemon And Paeroa (L&P). The Tourism Paeroa campaign, online at http://www.tourismpaeroa.co.nz/, features a television commercial, a Facebook fan page, and a series of twelve webisodes covering the promotional tour of New Zealand.

Microsoft Windows Break Down The Walls - November 10th, 2009

Here’s another Berlin Wall related campaign, a direct marketing trick from New Zealand. Microsoft wanted to show software sales staff that Windows breaks down the walls in customers’ lives. They showed them what that felt like by putting the letter in a concrete envelope, complete with a hammer to smash it open. The letter invited them to join a sales promotion where they could win a trip to visit the remainder of the Berlin Wall.

Two Of Every Kind in Noah’s Ark - November 8th, 2009

Gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered and straight people gather together for worship at Auckland Community Church every Sunday night, hosted by St Matthew in the City Anglican Church. This controversial billboard has provoked discussion in Auckland, using an adaptation of “Noah’s Ark” (1970) by British pop artist Clifford Richards.

Red Bull City Scramble Wall - November 5th, 2009

Red Bull brought Endurocross to downtown Auckland, New Zealand, on May 31, 2009. “City Scramble” featured enduro bike riders on an urban course featuring elements that have never been seen before anywhere, plus all the obstacles that make Endurocross such an intense sport such as logs, rocks and water. To get the word out this print advertisement presented the Red Bull Wall as the finished product of inner city racing.
