Finnish film director Elias Koskimies has produced “I’ve Only Just Begun”, a music video designed as a response to the new gay-propaganda law in St Petersburg which bans the promotion of homosexuality. Venuz Vulgar (Morgan Devereaux) and his friends make their way to St Petersburg, Russia, opposed by conservatives in white and neo-conservatives in black. Elias is supporting the music video with a Facebook page and hopes to have it shown at short film festivals.
McDonald’s Finland promoted their original milkshakes with two print advertisements featuring Alli and Venla, cows from Myrskyla village near Helsinki. Alli and Venla are shown considering the possibilities of a skipping rope and hop scotch. The campaign follows on from the success of the award winning Trampoline point of sale poster from 2009, and the Double Milkshake udder ad.
Veikkaus, the Finnish National Lottery, is promoting the Eurojackpot 10 million Euro draw with two television commercials, “Bring It On” & “Girls Just Want to Have Fun”. It’s the time old question: what would you do if you won the lotto? The best laid plans can quickly go off the rails. But going off the rails might just be the best adventure you can have.
World Design Capital 2012 Helsinki is running a remotely-controlled cafe, Cafe Kauko, in which users around the world can manipulate furniture, music and lighting using a mobile application at youdesign.fi. The project is designed to show people who are not naturally interested in design that design is anything that makes things work better, is all around us every day, and affects us all. All of the different elements of the campaign (PR, TV, print, outdoor and banners) directed people to the café while also communicating the chosen messages. “Kauko” is a Finnish nickname for kaukosäädin, the remote control.
McDonald’s is promoting large coffee deals in a print advertising campaign featuring expansive coffee seascapes with wide horizons. The campaign follows on from an ongoing series of print ads for the cheeseburger, cheeseburger with bacon, the real milkshake, double milkshake, Christmas crisps chandelier and 1 Euro cheeseburger.
