Conferencias Publicitarias is an independent community with over 8000 members, bringing together people from the advertising industry in Colombia and Latin America to hear inspirational speakers from their field. Rivers of Light

“Rivers of Light” (Operación Ríos de Luz), a campaign run by the Ministry of Defense Humanitarian Demobilization Program in Colombia, has won a Titanium Lion at the 2012 Cannes International Festival of Creativity, along with a Silver Promo & Activation Lion, Silver PR Lion, Bronze Outdoor Lion, two Bronze Clio awards, and a Yellow Pencil at the D&AD Awards. Operation Christmas, an earlier campaign run in December 2010, involved lighting up four 25-metre Christmas trees to let guerrilla fighters in Colombian forests that it was possible to demobilise and come home. The Rivers of Light campaign in December 2011 involved sending messages, letters and gifts to fighters through their relatives and friends, inviting them to leave their weapons and come back home for Christmas. The messages were placed in illuminated airtight capsules and sent to the FARC groups camping by the rivers of Colombia.

Benzac for Acne Pores

Benzac AC, a water based benzoyl peroxide treatment for mild to moderate acne produced by Galderma, is presented as the way to restore social inclusion in this print advertising campaign from Colombia. “Party”, “Pool” and “Viewpoint” (Lookout Point) present the anxiety felt by teenagers concerned that their inflamed skin pores are preventing them from connecting with their friends.

Kinect Contortionists

Microsoft has launched a print campaign for the Kinect, their 3D motion capture device designed to work with the Xbox 360 video game console. The images depict people fitting into the shape of a traditional Xbox 360 controller, illustrating the Kinect slogan, “You are the controller.”

Lukafe Intense or Without Caffeine

CasaLuker in Colombia ran a print advertising campaign contrasting the effects of its Lukafe Intenso brand and the decaf version, Lukafe Sin Cafeina. A decaf drinking voyeur misses all the action when a Lukafe Intense drinking woman reveals all. A Lukafe Intense drinking prisoner sneaks past a sleeping prison guard. A sleeping astronomer misses the moment while a local farmer, kept awake on Lukafe Intense, spots the UFO. Voyeur and Prison won a Silver Outdoor Lion at Cannes International Festival of Creativity 2011.
