Aldi Gorilla with Chocolate Bunnies
Aldi UK has released a spoof TV advert providing an homage to the 2007 Cadbury Gorilla viral hit. Instead of playing along to Phil Collins “In The Air Tonight”, the Aldi Gorilla version has the gorilla playing the drums badly after comparing the price of a Lindt white chocolate bunny with a cheaper one at Aldi. “If you like that wait til you hear me on the piano…”. The Aldi Gorilla advert is part of Aldi’s Easter Favourite Things push across all media in the UK and Ireland.
The Aldi Gorilla campaign was developed at McCann Manchester by executive creative director Dave Price, creative director Neil Lancaster, agency producer Amy Mayers, head of TV production Lucy Moore, managing partner Simon Buchanan, account director Laura McKinlay, and planner Jamie Peate.
Filming was shot by director Mark Denton via Another Film Company with producer Nell Jordan, production manager Natalie Isaac, director of photography Miguel Ragageles, executive producer Tim Marshall.
Media was planned at UM Manchester by Guy Beardsley.
