Samsung is running a satirical advertising campaign poking fun at online speculation on the specs of the soon-to-be-launched Samsung Galaxy S6. Barbara Mackey, a psychic living in Toms River, New Jersey, has a go at predicting the future of Samsung smartphones. New York astrologer Michael Lutin, who has a go at making the connections between celestial movements, the second week of April and the new smartphone. Orange, a North Atlantic Harbor seal living in an aquarium in Norwalk, Connecticut, has the knack of predicting winners in the Oscars and the Super Bowl. And now it’s time to pick the new specs for the Samsung S6. The ads end with the declaration “Prediction time is over. Next is now.”
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Psychic Prediction campaign was developed at DDB Stockholm by copywriters Nick Christiansen and Magnus Jakobsson, art directors Joel Ekstrand and Fredrik Simonsson, executive agency producer Mattias Coldén, account director Christian Westelindh and account manager Susanne Ytterlid.
