Love Your NHS – A Bridge Over You

The Love Your NHS music video, “A Bridge Over You”, has won the honour of being the UK’s top Christmas single, beating three hits by Justin Bieber, “Love Yourself”, “Sorry” and “What Do You Mean”, and Adele’s single “Hello”. The music video features the NHS Choir, based at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, singing a mashup of Simon and Garfunkel hit “Bridge Over Troubled Waters” and Coldplay hit “Fix You”, and shows scenes from Lewisham Hospital in London. The music video is part of a larger campaign created by One Minute Brief and The Gate Films. One Minute Brief ran a public competition for film ideas that would raise support for the National Health Service. Creative Stephen Hunter proposed a concept based on the traditional vows made during a wedding service. NHS staff and the general public were asked to send pictures of themselves holding up a sign saying ‘I DO’, online at facebook.com/LoveYourNHS, twitter.com/LoveYourNHS and loveyournhs.co.uk. Proceeds from the song are being shared between Carers UK and Mind (including Mind’s sister charities in Scotland and Northern Ireland), and a smaller percentage will also be distributed amongst smaller charities in 2016.

The NHS campaign was developed at One Minute Briefs by Nick Entwistle, with freelance creative Stephen Hunter. Filming was produced by The Gate Films.
