Zurich Snowman Insurance in the Mountains
Swiss insurance company Zurich is running “Snowmen”, a Europe-wide cinema and online campaign showing the insurer’s employees going to great lengths to protect snowmen. The ad opens with snowmen melting in Bergün/Bravuogn, a municipality in the district of Albula in the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland. Zurich employees dressed in blue turn up in refrigerated trucks to take the endangered snowmen on a journey to the top of a mountain in the Alps. The ad ends with the line, “When you truly love something, you protect it in the best way”. The ad directs viewers to a website, zurich-snowman.ch, where they can build a virtual snowman, or submit a photo of one. Zurich will then pick winning entries to be recreated, for real, on top of the Alps. The campaign is a continuation of Zurich’s “For those who truly love” position launched in September 2013.
The Zurich Snowman campaign was developed at McCann Worldgroup by executive creative director Lee Tan, global creative director Miguel Bemfica (Madrid), copywriter Curro Piqueras (Milan), art director Cristina Caballero (Milan), creative director Rachid Ahouiyek (Milan), digital creative director Adrian Finzelberg (London), agency producer John Cheesemore (London), designer Faissal Omani, account director Petra Stachowiak (Zurich), global account director Marina Specht and account planner Wolfgang Eigner.
Filming was shot by director Eivind ‘Salmon’ Holmboe via Fish, Madrid. Editor was Jose Ramon Lorenzo. Post production was done at Big Buoy London. Music, Beethoven’s 7th Symphony, Movement II (Allegretto), was arranged by Pablo Martin Caminero.
The website was developed at 247GRAD, Koblenz, by creative director Thomas Berg and CEO Sascha Boeher.
