The Royal Dutch Guide Dog Foundation (KNGF Geleidehonden) is raising awareness of the range of people supported by guide dogs with a television commercial featuring a former soldier suffering from post traumatic stress disorder. The ad at first appears to be plug for a first person shooter war game, with a heart breaking discovery. We’re transitioned into a new perspective by a “buddy dog”, specially trained to wake soldiers from their nightmares. “We not only help people who cannot see, but also those who have seen too much”.
KNGF buddy dogs are trained to dramatically increase quality of life for returned soldiers. Buddy dogs not only contribute to a sense of security, but also increase mobility, offer comfort and tranquility, and help soldiers out of their nightmares.
The “Buddy” ad was developed at Selmore, Amsterdam, by creative director/art director Jakko Achterberg, creative director/copywriter Niels Westra, agency producer Marga Bierema, account manager Tamara Eeuwes working with KNGF team Ellen Greve, Lex Liebregts, Monique Velten and Peter van der Heijden.
Post production was done at The Ambassadors.
