Book Culture Imagination Got There First
Book Culture, an independent bookstore in Manhattan, recently ran a series of posters juxtaposing the covers of literary classics by Jules Verne, George Orwell, H.G. Wells and Mary Shelley with images depicting iconic moments in history – that had been in some way imagined by those writers decades earlier. Using the tagline Imagination Got There First, the posters highlight how the limitlessness of the writer’s imagination can sometimes predict the future.
The Imagination Got There First campaign was developed at Y&R New York by chief creative officer Jim Elliott, senior art director Eduardo Quadra, copywriter Paul Michael Wood, art director Mihail Aleksandrov, executive director of content production Letitia Jacobs, art content producer Cindy Pardy and creative retoucher Raul Pardo. Photography was from Getty Images and Corbis.
