The Auchan Selfscan Report

European supermarket chain Auchan has won the Design Grand Prix at Cannes International Festival of Creativity, for “The Selfscan Report”, developed by Serviceplan, Munich. The main objective of the Selfscan Report was to create a sustainability report, which is sustainable by itself. The report needed to use as little paper as possible, and use existing channels of distribution. Customers were able to use barcodes on receipts to access the report on their smartphones, using a scan-app. Over 1.5 million people were reached within a week. Copies of the receipt were sent to key clients and journalists to spread the word.
