Pepsi is building a popular following for Pepsi Max with “Test Drive”, an online video featuring NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon and a Chevy salesman. Filmed in Concord, North Carolina, the film shows Gordon disguised with make up and a fake beard, taking the Troutman Motors salesman (supposedly unaware of Gordon’s identity) for a spin. The campaign also includes a bonus Harlem Shake video featuring Jeff GOrdon.
The Test Drive campaign was developed at TBWA\Chiat\Day, Los Angeles, by associate creative director William Esparza, art director Kristina Krkljus and copywriter Armando Samuels, art director Jenn Tranbarger and copywriter Ben Becker.
Filming was shot by director Peter Atencio via Gifted Youth, a Funny or Die film production company. Stunt work, filmed at an old Phillip Morris plant, was done by Brad Noffsinger from Richard Petty Driving Experience.
