Janelle Monae’s music video for Q.U.E.E.N. featuring Erykah Badu, recently won the Best Art Direction award at the MTV Video Music Awards held in Brooklyn. The music video for the Q.U.E.E.N. single from her album, The Electric Lady, to be released by Atlantic on September 10, is set in the Metropolis Living Museum exhibit “Project Q.U.E.E.N.” where legendary rebels throughout history have been frozen in suspended animation. Janelle, frozen for launching a musical weapons program in the 21st century, comes to life, joined by her accomplice Badoula Oblongata (Erykah Badu).
