Harvey Nichols promoted the opening of the Beauty Bazaar at Liverpool One in November 2012 with “Love Thyself”, a print advertising campaign featuring three women about to kiss themselves. Kit, Kika (Kristina Jovanovic) and Dimphy Janse are each shown with their mirror images.
Adam&EveDDB explains their part in the campaign. “Our task was to help launch Beauty Bazaar, Harvey Nichols – a new concept store in Liverpool dedicated solely to beauty. The insight behind the campaign was that after treating yourself to a Beauty Bazaar treatment you’ll look so good you’ll want to ravish yourself. The striking posters feature women on the verge of a passionate kiss with themselves, alongside the headline, ‘Love Thyself. Beauty Bazaar, Harvey Nichols’.”
Daniela Rinaldi, Harvey Nichols group concessions and beauty director, said, “We wanted to capture the transforming nature of the in store experience and the notion of being the best you can be, so much so, that at the end of the experience you will look so good you will even fall in love with yourself”.
The Love Thyself campaign was developed at adam&eveDDB by executive creative director Jeremy Craigen, copywriter Mike Crowe, art director Rob Messeter, art buyer Daniel Moorey, photographer Norbert Schoerner, typographer Pete Mould, planner Elizabeth Jamot, account manager Charlotte Evans, account director Paul Billingsley, working with Julia Bowe and Anna Davidson.
