Force Feeding at Guantanamo Bay

British human rights organisation Reprieve has produced a challenging film featuring Yasiin Bey (aka Mos Def) being force fed under standard Guantánamo Bay procedure. As Ramadan begins, more than 100 hunger-strikers in Guantánamo Bay continue their protest. More than 40 of them are being force-fed. No footage of actual force feeding in the prison has ever been released. This film is based on a leaked document setting out the military instructions, or standard operating procedure, for force-feeding detainees. Released on Monday, the video has gone viral, netting over two million online views in its first day, mostly through The Guardian’s Youtube channel.

One Response to Force Feeding at Guantanamo Bay

  1. Such an incredibly strong ad about what is happening in Gitmo. Yasiin Bey is brave for undergoing that procedure to show the world what is happening.
