Academy Awards for Short Film 2013

Nominations are out for the 2013 Oscars, including the two categories Short Film (Animated) and Short Film (Live Action). Winners will be announced during a live ceremony on February 24, held in . Death of a Shadow (Dood van een Schaduw), a live action short film by Tom Van Avermaet and Ellen De Waele, follows a soldier who attempts to ransom his soul from Death and return to the girl he loves. Stuck in a limbo between life and death, Nathan Rijckx, a deceased World War I soldier, has to collect shadows to regain a second chance at life and love.
