Volkswagen is promoting the safety of the Tiguan SUV in “Sacrifice”, a television commercial in which a mother cruises around town in her daughter’s boyfriend’s Honda Del Sol and makes her daughter and boyfriend drive her 2012 Tiguan. The ad points to the Tiguan as one of the nine Volkswagen IIHS Top Safety Picks. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety recognised the Tiguan for its good performance in front, side, rollover, and rear tests and standard electronic stability control.

The Sacrifice ad was developed at Deutsch, Los Angeles, by chief creative officer Mark Hunter, art director Paul Oberlin, group creative directors Michael Kadin and Matt Ian, copywriter Matt Sherman, associate creative director Brian Friedrich, head of broadcast Victoria Guenier and agency producer Dave Stephenson.
