Turkish Airlines is working with McCann Istanbul to run “QR Flags”, in which all national flags have been turned into QR Codes. Launched in London during the 2012 Olympics, the QR Flags have been placed on 100 digital bus shelters all over London. Users who scan the QR code will check-in to that flag/country and enter the gamefication phase. To win a 2 two way ticket to one of Turkish Airlines’ 200 destinations, all you have to do is be the one with most check-ins or the one with the greatest number of individual check-ins. Both the mobile site and dedicated Facebook app provide information on closest bus shelters, check-in data and general stats.
