NZTA Flying Objects
NZTA (New Zealand Transport Agency) used “Flying Objects”, a television commercial launched in early 2012, to challenge the carelessness shown by drivers who creep above the speed limit at a level where they still consider themselves to be driving safely. The audience is shown a crash at slow speed, and challenged to consider the impact of a sudden stop on their bodies. Even with the best protection, you are still vulnerable. The Flying Objects commercial won a Bronze Film Craft Lion for visual effects at Cannes International Festival of Creativity 2012.
The Flying Objects ad was developed at Clemenger BBDO, Wellington, by executive creative director Philip Andrew, creative director Brigid Alkema, art director Michael de Tullio, copywriters Dan Moth, Emily Beautrais and Alex Metson, agency producer Martin Gray, account supervisor Julianne Hastings.
Filming was shot by director Derin Seale via Finch with executive producers Rob Galluzzo and Karen Bryson, producer Camillo Spath, director of photography Danny Ruhlmann, production designer Mick Coote, lighting director Pete Gilmour and wardrobe stylist Emma Aubin.
Sound and music were produced at Nylon Studios by sound designer/arranger Simon Lister.
