National Lottery Olympic Mother

The National Lottery funding of athletes is promoted in “Mother”, a commercial inspired by the story of 800 metres runner Jenny Meadows’ mother. Barbara Meadows was unable to compete at a professional level due to lack of funding. The commercial explores a woman’s joy and pride as she watches her daughter achieve Olympic glory, made a reality for her daughter because of National Lottery funding.

The Mother ad was developed at AMV BBDO, London, by art director Adrian Rossi, copywriter Alex Grieve, agency producers Holly Pienaar and Olly Chapman, planners Michael Lee, Emily Harlock, Alaina Crystal, account management team Sarah Douglas, Lee Simpson, Kate Edwards and Robyn Puttergill.
