MTV’s “Download Bar” advertisement has won two Craft Awards at Eurobest 2012, gold for art direction and silver for illustration. Designed by Ogilvy Germany and an illustration team at Illusion, Bangkok, the ad shows an online download bar made entirely from music fans and musicians. The more the fans want their favourite music without paying for it, the more the musical heroes are pushed into a dangerous corner. “Switch off illegal downloads. Switch on MTV.”
The MTV Download Bar ad was developed at Ogilvy Germany, Frankfurt, by chief creative officer Stephan Vogel, executive creative director Matthias Storath, creative director Helmut Meyer, art director Patrick Ackmann, copywriter Haiko Hörnig, illustrators Surachai Puthikulangkura and Supachai U-Rairat at Illusion, Bangkok, with producers Somsak Pairew, Anotai Panmongkol, art buyer Valerie Opitz, account supervisor Yves Rosengart working with Viacom marketing director Robin Karakash.
