Microsoft and Googlighting

Microsoft is taking a swipe at Google with “Beware the Googlighting Stranger”, a satirical video asking the question, “What happens when the world’s largest advertising business tries to sell productivity software on the side?” The video, criticizing Google’s cloud-based Google Docs productivity suite, uses theme music and script patterns from the 1980s Moonlighting television series. The ad, hosted on Youtube, follows on from the similarly scathing video, “The Gmail Man”, launched at the end of January 2012.
