Marks & Spencer Christmas advertising this year centred around “The Greatest Hits”, a commercial shot in the style of a music video working through five scenes and five backing tracks. Office chic, kidswear, dreamy sleepwear, winter knits and party time scenes feature a representative range of models of different shapes, sizes and ages, including four year old Seb White, a boy with Downs Syndrome. Seb was chosen after his mother posted on the brand’s Facebook page, asking whether M&S would consider using her son in the advertising as youngsters with Down’s Syndrome are not typically used in modelling campaigns. The campaign online provides customers with glimpses behind the scenes and an introduction to the fashion products featured in the commercial.
