Kia has released the “Dream Car for Real Life” commercial, designed for the Super Bowl XLVI on February 5, 2012. A sandman tips dream magic over a man and woman as they sleep. Only problem is the guy gets more than his fair share, sparking off an incredible fantasy centred on the new 2012 Kia Optima, with cameo appearances from Victoria’s Secret® model Adriana Lima, martial arts legend Chuck Liddell, bull rider Judd Leffew on a rhinoceros, and heavy metal band Motley Crue. The campaign began with a 16 second teaser and 5 minute time filler featuring a flag waving Adriana Lima.

The Dream Car campaign was developed at David&Goliath, Los Angeles, by chief creative officer David Angelo, executive creative director Colin Jeffery, associate creative directors Eron Broughton and Phil Covitz, copywriter Justin Bajan, art director Dan Madsen, executive producer/managing director Carol Lombard, executive producer Jennifer Mersis, managing partner of client services, Brian Dunbar, group account director Brook Dore, account director Justin Manfredi, management supervisor Jill Jagger, account supervisor Nancy Ramirez, director of strategic planning David Measer, and strategic planner Steven Garcia.
Filming was shot by director Noam Murro via Biscuit Filmworks, Los Angeles, with director of photography Salvatore Totino, executive producers Shawn Lacy and Colleen O’Donnell, and line producer Jay Veal.
Post production was done at Method Studios, Los Angeles, by senior executive producer Gabby Gourrier, executive producer Stephanie Gilgar, producer Pip Malone, VFX supervisor Rob Hodgson, CG supervisor Jason Schugardt, and compositing supervisor/Flame lead Patrick Ferguson.
