Golden Gate Bridge 75 Year Anniversary Posters
The Golden Gate National Parks Conservatory is celebrating the 75th anniversary of the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge, May 27, 2012, with a print, outdoor and interactive advertising campaign produced by San Francisco advertising agency Goodby Silverstein & Partners. The campaign includes “Band of Bridges,” a socially-driven website designed to build the longest digital bridge in the world. The 7th Anniversary celebrations are centred on the site, goldengatebridge75.org.
Visitors to the Band of Bridges site, bandofbridges.com, are invited to use a Google Maps interface to look up any bridge on earth and collectively add their respective bridge, starting with the Golden Gate. According to statistics from the U.S. Bureau of Transportation there are approximately 600,000 bridges in the United States alone. The Band of Bridges project hopes to connect thousands of bridges and people from across the globe, engaging people outside of the Bay area to celebrate the Golden Gate’s heritage.
The Golden Gate Bridge campaign was developed at Goodby Silverstein & Partners, San Francisco, by co-chairman/partner Rich Silverstein, director of design/associate partner Keith Anderson, senior art director/photographer Claude Shade, creative director Anders Gustafsson, art director Azin Ashourvan, junior art director Hanna Wittmark, junior copywriter Graham Lewis, senior interactive producer Margaret Brett-Kearns, with interactive production done at Famous Interactive.
