“At The End Before The Beginning”, a short film by Matthias Winckelmann, is designed as a surrealist glorification of interpretation and the modern possibilities of postproduction. Winckelmann describes it as a film that doesn’t want to tell a complete story, but sets out to surprise the audience with the unexpected. The film is dealing with expectations in cinema, as well as expectations in society. It’s a poetical manifest about human ideals, while visualizing the imagination of a young boy sitting in a train to nowhere.
“At The End Before The Beginning” was produced in Frankfurt, Germany, by director/compositor Matthias Winckelmann, director of photography Ivan Robles-Mendoza, with sound designer/composer Alan Pring.
