A Crash Course To Shine
Volkswagen and DDB Berlin worked together to run “A Crash Course to Shine”, a viral video designed to warn young women about the dangers of putting on makeup while driving. Nikkie, a 16 year old haul video blogger from The Netherlands with over 200,000 Youtube subscribers, agreed to adapt one of her makeup tutorials to connect viewers with the shockingly high figure of half a million car crashes a year caused by women drivers applying makeup, in the UK alone. The message: “Don’t makeup and drive”. Launched in April 2012, the Crash Course To Shine video was awarded Gold and Bronze Cyber Lion at 2012 Cannes International Festival of Creativity.
