The United Nations World Water Day, marked across the world on March 22, 2011, has given a dash of colour with logos, posters and wallpaper images designed in English, Arabic, Chinese, Italian, French and Spanish. The international observance of World Water Day is an initiative that grew out of the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) in Rio de Janeiro. The theme this year is “Water for Cities: Responding to the Urban Challenge”.
