World AIDS Day a Big Red Zero

Volunteers with the New Zealand AIDS Foundation used big red helium balloons, shaped like zeros, to connect donors with the global theme of World AIDS Day 2011 (December 1), Getting to Zero. The outdoor campaign was backed up with a poster designed to drive home the “Back to Zero” message, thirty years after the first diagnosis of AIDS.

Getting to Zero for World AIDS Day

Getting to Zero focuses on three inspirational messages; zero new HIV infections, zero AIDS related deaths and zero discrimination. Launched by UNAIDS earlier this year, these three messages also reflect issues that are at the forefront of New Zealand’s HIV epidemic; HIV prevention initiatives, access to essential treatment and equality for people living with HIV.
