Walt Disney Family Museum

The Walt Disney Family Museum, based at the Presidio in San Francisco, opened in Fall 2009. The museum recently used little known vignettes about Walt Disney’s life to raise the exhibition’s profile and increase visitors. San Francisco agency Hub Strategy, with writer Sam Pond, created a new positioning statement, street pole banners, Muni and cable car sides, and online banners. Walt is shown arriving in Hollywood, riding on his LilyBelle miniature train, and holding Mortimer Mouse, the forerunner to Mickey Mouse.

  1. Just one correction to your copy. Walt Disney is holding Mickey Mouse in the first picture, not Mortimer. Mortimer never made it off the train back to California in the late 20′s. The character’s name was changed to Mickey before and products had been produced.

    Just for you FYI. :)

  2. Please ignore the fat fingered typos. :)
