Toyota UK has launched a new advertising campaign using pop art inspired commercials to promote the new Toyota Yaris. Each execution creates a humorous story around a key Yaris attribute; its driving agility, its intuitive touch-screen multimedia system, and its rear-view camera. Each ad includes a different song produced exclusively for the ad titled ‘But, Can You Do This?’. The campaign is intended to give the Yaris a dynamic and smart new image that will challenge consumer perceptions and reach out to a fresh audience of 20- to 30-year-olds. The TV ads will be supplemented in September by digital work on the Toyota UK Facebook page, allnewyaris.com and direct acitivity.
The first of three adverts features ‘Gadget Guy’, an animated character who spruiks Toyota’s new Touch & Go System which allows passengers to Google search for the nearest restaurant, find the nearest empty parking space, the cheapest fuel and weather forecasts, while the advanced Bluetooth connectivity, allows you to pull your contacts and texts onto the screen. The third ad will highlight Toyota’s state-of-the-art Touch & Go multimedia system, which gives drivers access to the infinite knowledge and sociability of the web.
