Telecom in New Zealand is launching its Smartphone Network with an advertising campaign focusing on the human connections made possible through mobile communication technology. The narrator takes viewers through a celebration of the meeting and parting moments, beginning with a newborn baby and the observation, “Life starts with tears. But that’s OK. That’s life”.

The Smartphone Network campaign was developed at Saatchi & Saatchi, New Zealand, by executive creative director Antonio Navas, creative director Scott Huebscher, art director Rich Robson, copywriter Jon Austin, creative group head Anne Boothroyd, strategist Ben Fielding, group account director Simon Wedde, agency producer Megan Robertson, senior account director Michael Healy, working with Telecom chief marketing officer Kieren Cooney, head of communications Charlotte Findlay and senior communications manager Arnna Findlay.
