The 2011 Sydney Writers’ Festival, running from May 16 to May 22, is being promoted with an integrated advertising campaign focusing on the theme, “Words to Live By”. A 45 second animated television commercial highlights the social, political and historical importance of writers in society. Print and poster advertising continues the theme, while a program guide has been distributed through the Sydney Morning Herald. Mini magazines have been produced with free post card advertising company Avant Card. The Festival’s site includes links to a Facebook page and Twitter page and will be supplemented with an iPhone app serving as an electronic event guide.
