Absa, the South African bank, is connecting South Africans to the Springboks participation in the 2011 Rugby World Cup with “A Team of Millions”, an integrated advertising campaign celebrating all South Africans united as one behind the team. A television commercial, launched in July, shows the excitement around the country as the Springboks prepare to step out onto the field. South Africans have responded to the call to have photographs included in the Team of Millions site, through photo booths in shopping centres, and online at at teamofmillions.co.za. The Team of Millions photograph, depicting over 10000 fans, arrives as a collector’s item in City Press, Rapport and the Sunday Times on 11 September 2011.

The Team of Millions campaign was developed at The Jupiter Drawing Room, Cape Town and Johannesburg, by executive creative director Tom Cullinan, art director Gareth Pretorius and head of TV Chloe Saunders.
