Microsoft Research 20 Years

Microsoft is celebrating the 20th anniversary of Microsoft Research with an interactive timeline of the company’s achievements in computer science since 1991. The timeline, online at, is displayed in an interactive Silverlight presentation, mirroring the “Metro” style of Windows 8 and Windows Phone 7. A collage of images and words represents Microsoft’s research milestones, as well as significant advances in computing. Clicking each of the panels leads to additional information.
