Google Voice Search for Tourism Australia
Google Voice Search has partnered with Tourism Australia to launch a YouTube channel featuring videos testing their technology in extreme acoustic environments around Australia. They have conducted two experiments in remote locations, a voice search underwater on the Great Barrier Reef and a long distance voice search using parabolic mirrors in the middle of the South Australian desert. Tourism Australia and Google put out a call for voice search queries to be asked underwater on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. Using a Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo Android smartphone and a Transducer (http://goo.gl/VKsJQ), this acoustic experiment to test Google voice search for mobile was conducted underwater by two Google Australia engineers.
