Citroen‘s sponsorship of the second series of “An Idiot Abroad” on Sky One is being promoted with a series of short bumper advertisements directed by British comedian/director Richard Ayoade. The ads feature a nosey neighbor who comments and shakes his head at all the fun the family next door is having as they pile into their Citroen DS4. Clearly, the guy doesn’t get out much. An Idiot Abroad, an eight-episode series, stars Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant and Karl Pilkington. According to Jules Tilstone, marketing director of Citroen UK, the audience and tone of the show are a great fit for the DS4, a family car it is targeting at a more adventurous buyer. “Citroen DS4. The Idiot Abroad bumper campaign was developed at Euro RSCG London by creative director Brendan Wilkins, art director/copywriter George Brettell, agency producer Lou Mumford.
