Atari has launched a trailer for Heroes of Neverwinter, their new licensed Dungeons and Dragons Facebook game. The game is a turn-based dungeon-crawling RPG played in a browser, in which players can recruit their friends to become characters in their adventures.
Heroes of Neverwinter is set in Dungeons & Dragons’ Forgotten Realms universe. Forgotten Realms has been the home to many video games already, including the Baldur’s Gate, Icewind Dale and Neverwinter Nights games. Dungeons and Dragons was also licensed to the Facebook game Tiny Adventures in 2008, wherein the player sent characters on missions and made one or two simple decisions per mission.
Heroes of Neverwinter, on the other hand, claims to be a deeper RPG experience, allowing players to move their characters around the battlefield and fight against groups of enemies. The game also has social aspects, with the ability to interact with friends’ characters.
Heroes of Neverwinter is currently in open beta and can be played on Facebook. Click on the image below to play the trailer in YouTube (HD)
