Apple has launched the new iPhone 4S with a commercial focusing on Siri, its new personal voice recognition assistant. The ad features people talking to Siri via their iPhones, requesting information, sending text messages and setting countdown timers. Apple has also released a five minute video introducing the iPhone 4S as a whole.
The Apple iPhone 4S will have the same outer design as the iPhone 4, but will feature upgrades to the hardware, including Apple’s A5 processor, which currently powers the iPad 2. The main focus of the 4S is Siri, which takes voice commands in natural language and is able to control most aspects of the iPhone. The service is set to compete against Google Android’s Voice Actions.
iPhone 4S will be released on October 14th running iOS 5. Prices will start at $199 (USD).
