Zinedine Zidane and Didier Drogba, well known soccer players, are helping to raise awareness of the United Nations Millennium Goals, in the Kick Out Poverty campaign associated with the United Nations for the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) Review Summit in September. Launched on June 11, 2010, the Millennium campaign has connected the energy associated with the FIFA World Cup with the power of YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and blogs to transition the United Nations into the digital and social sphere. Visitors to the site, www.kickoutpoverty.org, can view the PSA and learn about the eight internationally-agreed Millennium Development Goals, targeting poverty, hunger, disease, illiteracy, pollution, maternal and child deaths, inadequate shelter and gender inequality by 2015.
