Advertising for Skittles in the USA is known for its off-the-wall humor. You’d sacrifice anybody to have an endless supply of Skittles, wouldn’t you? In “Plant” a seemingly typical argument between a mother and son has a very unusual twist in true Skittles fashion. The spot won a Silver Film Lion at Cannes International Advertising Festival. “Harvest the Rainbow! Taste the Rainbow!”

The “Harvest the Rainbow” Plant ad was developed at TBWA\Chiat\Day New York by chief creative officer Mark Figliulo, creative director Rob Baird, art director Kris Wixom, copywriter Alisa Sengel Wixom, agency producer Jason Souter, executive producer of media arts Matt Bijarchi, group account director Ritu Sharma, account supervisor Kelsey Robertson, director of broadcast production Ozzie Spenningsby.
Filming was shot by director Guy Shelmerdine via Smuggler, Los Angeles, with producer Kathy Rhodes, executive producers Patrick Milling Smith, Brian Carmody and Lisa Rich.
Editors were Jon Grover and Steve Gandolfini at Cut & Run, with assistant editors Zach Neumeyer and Isaac Chen.
Sound was designed at Sound Lounge by Philip Loeb.
Animation was produced at Framestore by senior Flame artist Maryanne Butler, Flame artist Miyuki Shimamoto.
Post production was done at Brand New School by creative director Jens Gehlhaar and executive producer Ned Brown.
