Target, a longtime sponsor of Olympian gold medalist Shaun White, is not an official supporter for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, which means that Vancouver 2010 advertising is not allowed in the lead up or during the Games. Target timed their out of doors campaign in Times Square to be up and down before the out-of-bounds time, unveiling billboards on January 15 and taking them down soon after. The nine outdoor billboards provided Shaun White with a good-luck sendoff and drove awareness for the retailer’s exclusive Shaun White 4 Target clothing line.
