Nike has released the full version of their “Write the Future” television commercial, featuring English soccer player Wayne Rooney, and Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo. Excerpts of the video were released online providing glimpses into the potential future of the star players, hinting at success and failure. Also appearing are Ronaldinho, Didier Drogba, Fabio Cannavaro, Theo Walcott, Franck Ribéry, Landon Donavon, Tim Howard, Cesc Fabregas, Roger Federer, Gael Garcia Bernal and Homer Simpson. The 3 minute spot was released in 32 countries simultaneously and had 6 million hits over the weekend of the Champion Leagues Final. See the campaign online at Nike Football, Facebook and YouTube.

The Write the Future campaign was developed at Wieden + Kennedy, Amsterdam, by executive creative director Jeff Kling, creative directors Mark Bernath and Eric Quennoy, copywriters/art directors Stuart Harkness and Freddie Powell, agency producer Elissa Singstock and Oliver Klonhammer, head of broadcast Erik Verheijen.
Filming was shot by director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu via Mokkumercials Amsterdam, and Independent Films, London, with executive producers Jani Guest and Richard Packer, line producer Arttu Sesselaar, director of photography Jeroen van der Poel.
Editors were Rich Orrick and Ben Jordan was Charlie Moreton at Work Post, London, with executive producer Jane Dilworth.
