NHL Faith Hope and Belief
NHL, the North American National Hockey League, started their season on October 1 in 2009, starting the drive towards the Winter Classic, the Stanley Cup and the stimulus provided by the Winter Olympics in Vancouver in February 2010. Working with Y&R New York the NHL contracted New York visual effects company Nice Shoes to develop a series of three television commercials using only still imagery from the NHL photography archives. Each spot uses four to five striking images of stand out NHL players surfacing then receding into a field of black, while stylish typography dips in and out. The series was also produced in French for Canadian television.
