McDonalds Check This Showdown Again

McDonalds recreated the 1993 Super Bowl commercial, “The Showdown”, in “Check This”, a spot broadcast before the kickoff of Super Bowl XLIV, starring NBA stars Dwight Howard and LeBron James. The original ad pitted Michael Jordan and Larry Bird against each other in a trick-shot competition for a Big Mac and fries. Look out for the reappearance of Larry Bird.

The award winning “Nothing But Net” campaign was developed at Leo Burnett, Chicago.

Filming in the Conseco Fieldhouse, Indianapolis, was shot by director Joe Pytka, reprising his role as director for the original 1993 Super Bowl spot.
