Footlocker in Europe used spanking in “Mastermind”, a television commercial that takes competition into the bedroom. Some people develop their knowledge of science and the world to get on to University Challenge. Others develop their passion for Adidas, Converse and Nike sneakers to get a job at Foot Locker. The commercial won Gold Film (Retail) and Silver Film (Footwear & Fashion Accesories) awards at the 2010 Epica Awards.

The Mastermind campaign was developed at Sapient Nitro, London, by creative director Malcolm Poynton with agency producer Michelle Grainger.
Filming was shot by The Perlorian Brothers via Blink Productions with director of photography Stöps Langensteiner and producer Claire Jones. Editor was Michelle Czukar at Panic & Bob, Toronto. Post production was done at Prime Focus, London, by Duncan Russell (grade), Jon Trussler (smoke) and Chris Chard (VFX post producer).
