The Borkebjs Return of the Monsters is a 332-page fairy tale book starring ten furry creatures, the Borkebjs, who can only be seen if you use your imagination. The book’s design concept won a Gold World Medal at the 2010 New York Festival and a Gold Design Lion at Cannes International Advertising Festival. The message on the cover of the book isn’t immediately visible to everyone. However, people who see the book’s cover as a game can assemble the title and find the ‘entrance’ into the realm of fantasy.
The Return of the Monsters design was developed at Kolle Rebbe, Hamburg, and Korefe, Hamburg, by executive creative director Stefan Kolle, creative director Katrin Oeding, art director/copywriter/illustrator/typographer/photographer Reginald Wagner, copywriter Delia D. Marti, copywriter Till Grabsch, photographers Ulrike Kirmse and Guido Stanke, illustrator Sarah Gossner, producers Franziska Ziegler and Frank Schneider, account supervisor Juliane Ahlfeld. Post production was done at Px2@medien. Printing was done at H. Heenemann.
