Bing at the Movies
Microsoft’s Bing is appearing as the saving plot changer in an advertising campaign featuring two road movies, Easy Rider (1969) and Thelma and Louise (1991). George Hanson, travelling with Wyatt and Billy, tries to use Google Search on his cell phone to find out where he is. When he tries Bing he discovers a GPS navigation feature with instructions to turn left. Thelma and Louise are at the edge of the Grand Canyon, with nothing but police behind them. Using Bing on a cell phone they discover a three star restaurant just across the canyon. See also “Los Links Episode Dos”, a spoof of Spanish television soap operas.
